Chemist

We are presently seeking an experienced Chemist to support our Research and Development effort at both locations. The Chemist will participate in the development of new products and offer improvement to existing products. Responsibilities will include the formulation of new inks, clear coats, resins and adhesives, including solvent based and exterior durable coatings. Experience should include:

Technical Skills: Knowledge of PVC organosol compounding, formulating and processing; Experience with the process of Coating/Web Handling/Converting; and knowledge of pressure sensitive adhesives and processing. Experience with OEM Specification Testing and the ability to plan and conduct scale-up from pilot through production is a plus.

Management Skills: This may be a spring board position for the right candidate. Management skills and experience are a plus.

Communication Skills: Ability to produce written communication, reports and presentations using Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate verbally in meetings and group discussions. Strong leadership skills including the proven ability to manage projects that will exceed customer expectations for quality, cost and timing.

Education/Training: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on Chemistry or similar. Ability to travel within the US and internationally.

AutoCAD Designer

Would you like the chance to participate in the design of automotive…

We have an immediate opening for an experienced AutoCAD Designer to work closely with our Design and Project Engineers to draft 2-dimensional drawings. You will create die layouts and print films to be used in production and prototypes that meet our digital die cutting requirements.

Additional skills such as CATIA, NX Unigraphics, Solid Works and Adobe Illustrator would be excellent! An Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting or 2 years of experience is preferred.

Our newest facility, KPMF USA, includes a 63″ web coating machine that has been built for power, speed and flexibility. It features a reverse roll and knife over roll coating head. Capabilities include single sided coating using a choice of several processes, multi-zone drying and in-line lamination. This facility is located adjacent to Kay Automotive Graphics in Lake Orion, MI.


 

MACHINE OPERATOR (CONVERTING) – 1st/2nd/3rd Shift

Evaluate orders and specifications to determine set-up configurations.

Set up and operate the coating machine line which includes unwind, coating station, accumulator, drying oven and rewind.

Make adjustments to the coating line to maintain machine performance and product quality; may include changing idler types, tread up configuration and operational cycles.

Keep the coater running to produce a high volume of adhesive and topcoat product lines.

Safely use an overhead crane to move material.

SLITTER/REWINDER OPERATOR – 1st/2nd/3rd Shift

Evaluate orders and specifications to determine set-up configurations.

Operate the turret slitter, rewinder to cut vinyl and urethane.

Make adjustments to the slitter to maintain machine performance and product quality; may include changing the rollers, blades, speed and tension.

Safely use an overhead crane to move material.
