Quality Engineer

The position of Quality Engineer requires a solid working knowledge of Quality Assurance disciplines, including IATF-16949/ISO 9001, experience with manufacturing processes, APQP, FMEA, QOS, excellent communication skills, and a degree in a related field. ASQ Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills necessary to write reports and relay information to management, concerning trial results and recommendations for new processes, etc.
  • Primary contact to manufacturing. Responsible for communicating and facilitating quality guidelines and standards.
  • Interface with customer representatives concerning non-conforming material and corrective action.
  • Coordinate the development of necessary controls and documentation for new processes (Control Plans, Process Flows, Verification logs, Incoming Inspection, Registration logs, Critical Processes, etc.).
  • Manage the issuance and maintenance of adequate and acceptable visual attribute standards for manufacturing, suppliers and/or customers.
  • Promote and manage efficient and complete Change Management activities.
  • Ability to perform product testing and evaluations in a lab environment.
  • Coordinate and analyze dimensional, visual evaluations or DOE’s on new products or as related to manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate activities related to Cost of Quality and Scrap Reporting Program.
  • Participate in Internal and External Audits, as required.

Affiliate Openings:


Our newest facility, KPMF USA, includes a 63″ web coating machine that has been built for power, speed and flexibility. It features a reverse roll and knife over roll coating head. Capabilities include single sided coating using a choice of several processes, multi-zone drying and in-line lamination. This facility is located adjacent to Kay Automotive Graphics in Lake Orion, MI.


Chemist

We are presently seeking an experienced Chemist to support our Research and Development effort at both locations. The Chemist will participate in the development of new products and offer improvement to existing products. Responsibilities will include the formulation of new inks, clear coats, resins and adhesives, including solvent based and exterior durable coatings. Experience should include:

Technical Skills: Knowledge of PVC organosol compounding, formulating and processing; Experience with the process of Coating/Web Handling/Converting; and knowledge of pressure sensitive adhesives and processing. Experience with OEM Specification Testing and the ability to plan and conduct scale-up from pilot through production is a plus.

Management Skills: This may be a spring board position for the right candidate. Management skills and experience are a plus.

Communication Skills: Ability to produce written communication, reports and presentations using Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate verbally in meetings and group discussions. Strong leadership skills including the proven ability to manage projects that will exceed customer expectations for quality, cost and timing.

Education/Training: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on Chemistry or similar. Ability to travel within the US and internationally.
