Program Launch Coordinator

Seeking an accomplished professional to facilitate program launch activities while working as a liaison between our Account Management, Quality and Manufacturing areas:

  • Work with Account Executives, Technical Service Representatives, Quality Engineers and Manufacturing Management to obtain a clear definition of customer requirements and milestones for new program launches.
  • Ensure that launch activities are meeting the prescribed timing for each phase/activity and that due dates and risks of launch plans are communicated.
  • Confirm program information (final construction, dates, etc.) in APQP database Project Definition phase prior to launch.
  • Facilitate weekly Core Team meetings and distribute status updates.
  • Organize and track on-time production and shipping of intra-company (Maquila) package transfers when necessary.
  • Accurately inform Material Scheduling to add or remove orders related to early parts, cap runs and prove out runs.

You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office with Project and at least 10 years of work experience in manufacturing.

Facilities and Equipment Manager

We are seeking a “Top Notch” Facilities and Equipment Manager:

  • The major focus of the job will be Kay Automotive Graphics. KAG is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of high quality OEM graphics including; decorative exterior decals, pillar blackouts, door sill protectors, bumper protectors and many other functional and protective films. Our equipment includes several long stroke printing presses, a variety of die cutting presses, and many slitters and laminators. We are currently in the process of expanding our manufacturing facility, which will be a priority for the selected candidate.
  • A second facility adjacent to KAG will also require oversight. KPMF-USA manufacturers a wide selection of high quality film products, including cast and calendared films. The operation includes a 63″ web coating machine that features a reverse roll and knife over roll with computerized controls. Capabilities include single sided coating using a choice of several processes, multi-zone drying and in-line lamination.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the efficient operation of all equipment and machinery to minimize down time and increase the life of the equipment
  • Provide recommendations for modifications of existing facilities and equipment and the purchase of new equipment
  • Negotiate with vendors regarding new equipment purchases and repairs
  • Responsible for the system that tracks work orders, parts inventories, preventative maintenance and the maintenance history of plant equipment
  • Participate in our IATF-16949 audits as a Process Owner
  • Assign work to Subordinates (one Supervisor and 12 Technicians)

Communication Skills: Ability to produce written communication and reports using Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate verbally in meetings and group discussions. Strong leadership skills including the proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion.

Education/Training: A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

Our newest facility, KPMF USA, includes a 63″ web coating machine that has been built for power, speed and flexibility. It features a reverse roll and knife over roll coating head. Capabilities include single sided coating using a choice of several processes, multi-zone drying and in-line lamination. This facility is located adjacent to Kay Automotive Graphics in Lake Orion, MI.


Chemist

We are presently seeking an experienced Chemist to support our Research and Development effort at both locations. The Chemist will participate in the development of new products and offer improvement to existing products. Responsibilities will include the formulation of new inks, clear coats, resins and adhesives, including solvent based and exterior durable coatings. Experience should include:

Technical Skills: Knowledge of PVC organosol compounding, formulating and processing; Experience with the process of Coating/Web Handling/Converting; and knowledge of pressure sensitive adhesives and processing. Experience with OEM Specification Testing and the ability to plan and conduct scale-up from pilot through production is a plus.

Management Skills: This may be a spring board position for the right candidate. Management skills and experience are a plus.

Communication Skills: Ability to produce written communication, reports and presentations using Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate verbally in meetings and group discussions. Strong leadership skills including the proven ability to manage projects that will exceed customer expectations for quality, cost and timing.

Education/Training: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on Chemistry or similar. Ability to travel within the US and internationally.
